Other Activities and Events

In between the large-scale events at Dailard Elementary, the PTF sponsors a variety of activities for all students who are interested. Parent volunteers coordinate and manage the bulk of these programs, and can always find ways for new parents to get involved. If you would like to help organize or participate in any of these programs, please contact the committee member in charge of it. Contact information can be found on the Activities and Events Committee (formerly Programs Committee) page.

Arts Attack
Jodi Gross (jodi@thefinishedtouchsd.com)
Arts Attack is a K–5 curriculum with 24 art lessons for each grade level. Teachers receive a DVD with a modeled lesson and a packet of resources that can be customized for their classes. Parent volunteers help facilitate the program, and student art is displayed on campus.

Health & Wellness
Erin Cragin (ecragin@cox.net)
Health & Wellness is a program that debuted in the 2010–2011 school year. It emphasizes physical fitness among the student body and their families. Components include:

  1. Friday Flag guided movement exercises
  2. Videos of five-minute desk exercises that teachers can use in class any time during the day
  3. Family Fitness nights in the Dailard multipurpose room
  4. Articles in the Dailard Days newsletter
  5. Purchases of fitness equipment for teachers for PE and recess
  6. Weekly evening Zumba classes (a portion of the class fee is donated to the PTF)

Run/Walk Club
Scott Rosch (krisscot@cox.net)
The Run/Walk club is a parent-sponsored activity for 1st through 5th graders. Twice a week, students run or walk laps during recess and track their progress. They can earn tokens and tee shirts when they reach certain milestones, and they enjoy an end-of-the-year celebration.

Yearbook
Barbara Merkel (dailardyearbook@gmail.com)
The Yearbook staff collects pictures of Dailard students and functions throughout the year and publishes a yearbook that students can purchase for a nominal cost. It is not a fundraiser.

5th Grade Activities
Jen Sothras (sothras1@cox.net)
Dailard 5th graders look forward to a variety of springtime activities that make their last year at school memorable, such as field trips, the 5th Grade Picnic, a promotion ceremony, and class tee shirts. They do their own fundraising for these events.
